Got this cello for my wife for Christmas, and she loves it. It sounds good for a starter cello, and looks good as well. Black Friday deal and we received incredible value for our money. I had a local shop set it up properly for $40. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend as a starter cello.

While my granddaughter's cello was on back order and wasn't received in time for Christmas, Glarry stayed in constant contact with me to follow up on my order. When we received it, it was worth the wait! Starting with the beautiful case we were amazed at the quality for such a reasonable price. I would definitely order from Glarry again.

I am giving this 5 stars because for a starter cello it is better than I expected it to be. The strings it came with are not high quality by any means but they are good even to start with. It took about 5 days for the strings to stretch and the whole instrument to settle so it would stay in tune. I used peg dope on the pegs and oiled the fine tuners like I would do to the violins. It stays in tune and sounds decent for a cheap instrument. I ordered a better bow before I even received the cello since I had read so many reviews about cheap cellos coming with unusable bows. I was surprised when this arrived the the bow wasn't warped or twisted. The wooden bow it came with is usable. Not as well balanced as the carbon fiber bow I bought but still something you could start learning with. The bridge isn't perfect but it is pretty close to fitting the instrument. It would only need a small adjustment from a luthier. I am using it just how it is and don't have a huge complaints. The string height is correct. I was also happy with the shipping. I think it took about a week but I live in Maine and this shipped from California. There were a couple dings on the box but zero damage to the instrument. Not even a scratch. This is the cello I will suggest in the future to people that want something cheap to learn with.

As an adult hoping to teach myself the instrument I'd chosen the Glarry 4/4 cello based on the better reviews I've seen. All in all I'm quite content with it, no tuning issues, the strings took tune without snapping on me which has happened a few times with economically priced instruments in the past, I'm happy with the general look and feel of the instrument and I'm confident with adjustments I should be quite happy with it. I do feel like I'm going to need to make a few adjustments, the bridge primarily as it seems a little high and I'll need to shorten it if I want to have an action length of 68-69cm from nut to bridge as the 70.5cm length this instrument seems to be set up to take based on the position of the soundboard and height of the strings off of the end of the fingerboard, it results in a larger distance between notes which is a bit less comfortable than the shorter action length. I'm hoping not to have to adjust the soundpost as it was placed but I get the feeling it might be necessary to do so in addition having to modify the height of the bridge. Glarry does recommend taking the instrument to a luthier for final adjustment in the little manual it comes with so I'll credit them for that, but for people who like to do everything themselves I do want to mention that some adjustments like above might be necessary to get the best playability. All in all though, I'm optimistic that baring some big issue with making the little changes I plan to it should be a solid instrument and I'm quite happy with it so far.

I've been wanting to learn how to play the cello and finally decided to give it a shot with this student cello. I was nervous because this is my first time buying a musical instrument online. It arrived well packaged with not a scratch or ding. All this for a cello newbie and so far I'm off to a great start! The sound is lovely. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase!

Great for beginner and not so expensive if changes mind. I am actually learning to play (senior adult) and glad I could afford it. Something I've always wanted to learn and enjoying every minute!

I got this for my 5th grader, it was a great price for a starter versus renting. Easy set up. Teacher tuned and everything and it sounds great.

Although this is a new on the market, I have bought a Glarry violin for my little niece before, so I trust in the brand. This time I was not disappointed, and I am glad that I may be one of the first people to buy and use this cello. It is really a combination of quality and price.
