Got this cello for my wife for Christmas, and she loves it. It sounds good for a starter cello, and looks good as well. Black Friday deal and we received incredible value for our money. I had a local shop set it up properly for $40. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend as a starter cello.

While my granddaughter's cello was on back order and wasn't received in time for Christmas, Glarry stayed in constant contact with me to follow up on my order. When we received it, it was worth the wait! Starting with the beautiful case we were amazed at the quality for such a reasonable price. I would definitely order from Glarry again.

I am giving this 5 stars because for a starter cello it is better than I expected it to be. The strings it came with are not high quality by any means but they are good even to start with. It took about 5 days for the strings to stretch and the whole instrument to settle so it would stay in tune. I used peg dope on the pegs and oiled the fine tuners like I would do to the violins. Wow! Really.I thought I'd buy it as a knockabout violin so I didn't have to cart my more expensive violin around... and when it goes in for a service etc. HA. I love this Glarry. It arrived 2 hours ago. I only ordered on Saturday. Easy to set up. Didn't even need tweaking. As an adult hoping to teach myself the instrument I'd chosen the Glarry 4/4 cello based on the better reviews I've seen. I've been wanting to learn how to play the cello and finally decided to give it a shot with this student cello. I was nervous because this is my first time buying a musical instrument online. It arrived well packaged with not a scratch or ding. All this for a cello newbie and so far I'm off to a great start! The sound is lovely. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase!

This is not a professional viola, obviously. You're not paying for the expert craftsmanship and beautiful sound that you'd get from a 1k+ instrument. However, for the price, this is the way to go. Great for beginners!

The sounds are good and the manipulation is good! Is equipped with the needs, I can't think of anything wasn't ok with everything. Except the rosin isn't the best quality, is not great but is ok!. Overall is a great investment in the instrument with all the extras!

I bought this just to have some fun. I played in high school and TMJ disorder means I can't play my wind instruments anymore. I'm still breaking it in, but it holds its intonation surprisingly well and doesn't have an AWFUL sound. I'm sure a professional would be able to notice right away that this is not a serious violin. But it does the job for a beginner or just for some at-home fun!

A master violinist (and teacher) told me it was great for the price and had fairly good sound. She said the biggest problem with cheap violins is that they can't be tuned. This violin is fairly easy to tune but make sure the pegs are pushed in because they can become loose and then it becomes impossible to tune. It gets out of tune fairly easy so learn how to tune (it's fairly easy with a violin tuning app) and how to restring (YouTube tutorial). Also, new violins (new strings) take a few weeks ...
